The article that I choose talks about Vannevar Bush's article "As We May Think". One of the first things that stood out to me in this article is that Bush's article "As We May Think" was actually written in 1939 but did not get published until 1945. This means the idea of Memex is even older yet. He had written the original article because he believed that "our methods for transmitting and reviewing the results of research were no longer adequate." To solve this problem he came up with the idea of Memex(Memory Extender) which was one of the first ideas for a computer like thing. In the end the first person to use hypertext, Ted Nelson, said that Bush was one of his largest influences.
